Sweet Typography

I was tasked to create a book about a topic of my choosing and relate it back to typography. I chose to analyze candy logotypes of sweets I grew up eating, which included Mexican and American candy.

Brillo Eterno

Dia de los Muertos is a beloved and significant holiday in Mexican culture that carries a lot of meaning. In this project, I create a candleholder meant to tell the story of how a person’s loved one is guided from the spirit world and into the real world for a day. This is to signify the meaning of the holiday that holds immense importance to those of Mexican heritage.

Pa'buela

In this project, I create an ergonomic ladle meant to facilitate the experience of cooking caldo de verduras, or vegetable soup, for people with arthritis. I also create a logomark for this project.

I Hate ITC Garamond

I was tasked to design a chapter of a book and the table of contents in order to explore the relationship between font, point size, leading, column width, legibility, and the implementation of the grid. The chapter I designed was I Hate ITC Garamond from Seventy-nine Short Essays on Design by Michael Bierut.
